Operations Reporting Applications
A component of the OPERA Framework

Manual Load Dispatch

The Forecasted Load View compares loads for
Today, Yesterday, and Same Day Last Week
in graphical and spreadsheet formats.

The Manual Load Dispatch Day's Summary Form displays data numerically and graphically for Load, Temperature, Scheduled Generation, Net Interchange and other daily use data for both Pre-Dispatch and Real-Time Dispatch. It's just a calendar click to switch to another day, past or future.
MLD is a flagship application for use in Dispatch.

MLD Users: System Operations Dispatch

MLD Functionality
MLD is structured as a daily operations tool. Features included allow users to track Unit Generation, Load Forecasting, System Imports, and Net Interchange. Using these numbers, the system can then deduce a calculated Inadvertent Interchange.

Generation
Percentage of Available Capacity Utilized can be calculated based on Unit Generation inputs for each day or hour. The total Power Plant MVAR's is calculated based on the sum of Unit Generation MVAR inputs.

Application Architecture
As a component of the ASCE OPERA Framework, MLD can be easily integrated with the other components and accessed as another subsystem from the application Switchboard. The Reporting and Mailing subsystem allows users to easily create a report, preview it, then Email it to others for review and collaboration.

Reporting
Reports focus on System Efficiency, Percent of Available Unit Capacity utilized, and an analysis of trading patterns and behavior. Reports are structured as daily. However, a monthly management report is generally created as a custom add-in based on the needs of the utility at which this application is implemented.
